i currently have sea monkeys in the original tank they came with. i thought it would be lovely to have sea monkeys in a betta bowl. i dont want to spend a lot of money on 2 sets of beginner packs from amazon or whatever, and if i order directly from sea monkey website, it takes 2 mos! (i ordered some other stuff from them, and it seriously takes 2 mos for your order to arrive) so i was thinking about purchasing brine shrimp eggs/cysts and growing them in my betta bowl right away (i dont have a betta, just an empty bowl)... the sea monkeys i have lasted for 6 months, and may last more.... would brine shrimp last as long if i took care of them? would they live to maturity and reproduce for several generations?

  1. Same thing...

  2. Sea monkeys are brine shrimp. They just call them sea monkeys to market them to kids and mark up the price.

  3. They are the same thing so there shouldn't be much of a difference.

  4. sea monkeys are NOT exactly the same as brine shrimp they have been scientifically developed to live longer and possibly grow bigger

  5. LMAO.  You do realize they are the same exact thing, right?

    "Sea monkeys" ARE brine shrimp.

  6. They're the same thing. They're not scientifically bred for anything, ALL living creatures are naturally going to breed for several generations. It's called species survival. If you take care of them, you can keep them alive for generations. Don't overstock the bowl though, and don't overfeed.
