Ok , I am applying for jobs and there is always the category where they ask if you have any felonies. I was arrested for driving on a suspended license a few years ago. It was for not paying a ticket that I got for my headlight being out. And when I was pulled over, I didn't even know that I HAD a warrant out for my arrest. I wasn't kept over night and was let go after I paid the 10% of the fine. Is this considered a Felony or Misdemeanor?

  1. Misdemeanor

  2. Your state's criminal code defines felonies.  Do not assume that because there was little/no jail time or no prison time that the crime was not a felony.

  3. Don't worry, Its not a felony!

DWLS (Driving while license Suspended) Is a moving violation, neither a Felony or Misdemeanor, it is a civil infraction.

A Felony is, for example, Murder, Rape, Kidnapping, Grand Larceny (theft over $500.00) , Auto Theft, ect.(anything that you could be incarcerated for 1 year or more.)

A civil infraction is a boo-boo, not really a crime that needs to be told to a potential employer.

  4. most plces its a misd.  If you are still not sure call the court you had to appear in and find out what they have for it

  5. It would be considered a misdemeanor in Missouri. I can't speak for any other state.

  6. If that is as bad as your mean self is, put No felony arrests. It's true.

  7. Not sure on the state you are in, but a suspended license charge in California is a misdemeanor. Generally, if prison (as opposed to jail) was considered, it is a felony. If you could only have been sent to jail, it's a misdemeanor. I suspect you were convicted of a misdemeanor.

  8. I believe that that is a misdemeanor.  Better check with your court to be sure.

  9. Misdemeanor.
