my friend was sitting there thinking about his religion in his head, and at the very same time i was thinking about his religion.

we were both thinking the same thing at the same time

what do you call that ???

I think it's normal to have this level of connection with a friend you've known for a long time.

It happens all the time to me, too! I'll be thinking about something, and someone next to me will bring it up or something.. It's called "Telepathy"... Either that or "amazing series of coincidences".. It's kind of freaky though, but cool. Nice to know I'm not the only one :D

If you NEVER talk about his religion - how do you know about it? How did you know that you were both thinking about it?

If it happens all the time, how do you know about this?

Either both of you are lying or you are not telling the whole truth - that is mind reading - do you want to be psychic?

You obviously do (know of it through some way) and because you don't know much about it, it intrigues you...

That you know him very well - despite never discussing his religion, which you are obviously interested in as he's a close friend, it being natural to be curious of unknown, occult things that are close to you - and were in silence almost proves my point.

It is a case of knowing him and reflecting together upon the same subjects, if at different angles...

You are unclear about which exact points of "his religion" you were both thinking about - "his religion" is a very ambiguous term. Be very careful about how you answer this - this is the proof...

How do you know you were both thinking of exactly the same thing if you have never discussed his religion?

Telekenisis is moving things with your mind.

Psychic's aren't psychic.

Mind reading is, however, possible.

I will explain.

Think about your relationship with your friend.

What do you both do together and talk about most often?

What most often leads you onto the subject of his religion in your own mind?

What were you talking about before this incident occoured?

Same thing, perhaps?

Are you interested in his religion or does his interest in it incite yours?

Think about how you are, physically, when you discuss and think about his religion.

Are you both mimicking each other? Do you have the same styles of body language when you're talking or thinking about it?

Subconscious signals, such as Proxemics or Body Language, often tell you more about what a person is thinking than you realise.

If you know each other and have a routine together - no matter how obvious or slight it may be (body language is extremely subtle) - you will end up being able to finish each other's sentences.

It only follows that, because you can do this, you are thinking along similar lines.

I would call it knowing him well or a Meme.

A Meme is a mind virus - something that is implanted and grows in your subconscious until it reaches maturity and occupies your conscious mind without you realising it.

Psychoanalysists and Hypnotists use them a lot.

When it reaches your conscious mind, you will evolve it and eventually spread it yourself.

However - it takes a lot to change a person's core beliefs.

There is no way a committed Christian is going to become a committed Jew overnight.

I would say that you have an open mind and are receptive to new ideas.

That's a good thing to have, but use your discretion to discern what is best for you.

Pshycic is being open to outside spirits and sources and has nothing to do with reading minds.

Telepathy is reading minds, or thoughts.

Empathy is reading emotions.

He's on the same path as you are. This happens quite often if you are within a few feet of someone - within their energy field. You end up thinking what they are about to say or vice-versa.

Study it more and find others who can - and talk about it more.
