Question:

What would you call this dental problem I have?

My mandible has to bite too far up to meet my maxilla. When I close my lips my teeth are still far apart, though apparently the teeth themselves are fine, it's just the structure they're attached to.

I'm a 16 year old guy, so I might have to weight a few years.

  1. Go to a dentist and ask.

  2. Please discuss this with your dentist so he can look at your jaw and the way your teeth meet. He will discuss options with you

you're statements are too vague to tell if there is actually a problem. You see it is natural for the teeth to always have a space (not touching) in a resting state.

  3. See an orthodontist about the problem
