I nanny for 3 children.

Right now I have the 3 month old all day- varies from starting between 7 and 9 am until 545 pm

I pick the 5 yr old up at 1130

and then pick the 8 yr old up at 240.

in 2 weeks I will have all three all day for the summer

Then in sept. the arrangment will be the same as above.

What would you charge? I live in PA so not NYC or Cali or anything.

  1. I would charge $4 an hour. It works pretty well. Trust me. I had to babysit and I charged $4 an hour. It starts to add up. =)

  2. I would charge about $550 -$600 a week....

  3. Def dont charge $4 an hour.  Depends on your experence.  I would do 15 an hour.  You have almost two kids during the day and in the summer you have three all day.  If you think 15 is too much for just the two then charge 13 then in the summer charge 15.  If she doesnt pay you for gas then I would charge more than $15 and tell them you are charging more because of gas and stuff.

  4. Here's what you do....call 2-3 local daycare centres....get an "average" price and then cut that in half...there's your weekly amount. I live near Toronto...but I KNOW daycare is NOT cheap anywhere...(plus I own a daycare) ...we charge $62.00 a day for infants (under 18 months)...$55.00 for 18 months to 2.5 years and $48 for 2.5 to 5 years.

You have A LOT of responsibility...think about it....mom and dad get to wake up, get dressed and only worry about themselves ... you must be a God sent to them...I hope they are treating you right. If they're not...put a small word ad in your local paper and YOU indicate what YOU will charge parents per hour/per child.

It's hard to say how much to charge this summer without knowing what you charge/they pay you right now. Plus, do you keep the house tidy? Prep the kids meals? Do laundry? These are all contributing factors to what you could/should be making. E-mail me directly if you want more information.

  5. Anywhere between $12-$18 an hour depending on your area and cost of living.

  6. I had one first for $10.00 hourly when the baby born they pay me 12 an hour, I think is  to much responsability  to do it for less ,do your math 12 is good , and I live in georgia.

  7. I have 2 kids I take care of after school, laundry for them, and

prepare dinner. $20 flat fee.......includes gas, running to the grocery store etc. I have heard others $15 for two kids, and every extra one $5.00 an hr.  Watch out for the summer, as you will probably take them places....get reimbursed. (MA.)
