I say h**l No! But what would you do? I live in Southern Califonria and were I live it is already 100 degree's everyday and our electric bill is $350 dollars a month. My neighbor came over and told me she had her power shut off and it won't be back on for two days and she wanted to hook up to my backyard outlet. I flat out told her no that I am not paying for her electricity. Now she is being obnoxious when I go out of my house, loud and yells at me for being a *itch. Would you call the cops? What would you do? I have a right to say no. I am not responsible for her bills or her house. I am just courious..what you would do?

  1. If she's calling you names in public then tell her to grow up, get a job and pay her bills on time, then she wouldn't have to be mad and worry about this problem next time.

  2. I would have said no too.   There is no way I'm paying for anyone's electricity.  The next time she yelled at me I'd yell back at her to get a job and pay for her own electricity.

  3. Good for you for not giving in.  You know for a fact that it wouldn't be only 2 days.  You are definitely not obligated to cover your irresponsible neighbor's bills.  Just watch your back - and if she continues to taunt you- then you may have to call the cops.  And are you sure she isnt "hooking up" while you are away.

  4. She's a piece of sh*t-tell her to f*ck off!

  5. When I lived in an apt. I had a neighbor who begged me just to let her run an extension cord into her home for her fridge.  I said, ok.  Well, I walked by her apt. and heard the TV on so I said something.  She said her BF/"fiance" didn't know he wasn't supposed to.  Then the next evening I was outside and saw the lights on in there.  So I went up and cut the cord in the hallway.  When she came out I told her I had room in my fridge she can store stuff in there until it was turned back on.  Her "fiance" came out tripping so I called him a DEADBEAT who can't even take care of his "fiance" by paying the bills and she's an idiot for being with him.  Then I said, "why don't you pawn the 'engagement ring' to pay the electric bill?"  Then I laughed because she didn't even have one and I knew it.  They ended up being evicted a few months later.

My point is a dead beat is a ******* deadbeat.  If they aren't going to pay their own bills (obviously sometimes people have emergencies and whatnot - but usually these aren't the people that will beg for help) and then turn around and call you names, you know you did the right thing!

They sound like complete losers, honestly.   Try to get proof of what she is doing (video tape) so if anything happens, you have something to fall back on.

When she calls you a B@@@@ tell her, "Yes, I am a B@@@@ with electricty" and give her a look.
