  1. You meen ....male or female ?

  2. Maybe the person does not feel that he or she knows enough about the conversation to comment on what others are saying.  It is always better to keep your mouth shut if you are not sure your answer is the right one.

  3. I would talk to this co worker.. maybe this person is very insecure. I would mention in a friendly way that it is necessary to let other staff know what went on in the previous shift.. but usually that is done in writing.. in most places. one writes down what happened in the previous shift.. so that all can read it.. especially in health care work one needs to write that down for the staff who take over the next shift..  so I would talk to this person and probably it is shyness and insecurity and not being anti-social.. you and your other colleagues should try to act as a mediator..  to make that person feel more at ease by a smile and a friendly hello and a friendly asked..'' Hi.. what happened during the last shift.. can you please tell me'' then you are likely to get a positive response... xx

  4. talk with HR....sounds like a whacko
