  1. I went to the community college first and got an Associate's degree and went to the university and got the bachelor's.

I liked community college because the classes were smaller.

  2. I started at a community college and got 1 A.A.S. and 1 A.S. degree. Then went to a university for my BS degree. By going to the community college, you can get all your basic classes out of the way and get yourself ready for college. I asked my daughter to do the same and she didn't, she dropped out of school because she couldn't handle it.

  3. If you went to a community college you could transfer your core credits such as math, science, art to a four year college. It depends on what you would like to major in. The students who go to community college do not like to drop out of classes.

  4. I didn't finish college for my own reasons. And it had nothing to do with going to community college. I can't stand people (No offense to your sister.) Who belittle community college and treat people going there as though they aren't serious about it. I even had one teacher tell everyone in the class, no one who went to a communtiy college was truly serious.

  5. Going to a community college first will save you money, as it is likely quite a bit less expensive.

Before you enroll in any community college courses you should check with the university of choice to ensure what credits/courses they will accept as transfers.  Get it in writing.
