you only carry plastic no cash no change and there is no escape your only option is to go through it no turning around? This happened to me yesterday I basically went through it and then quickly turned around to find that the way out you have to pay too but really I was only on it for like a minute. I hate toll roads! they suck!!

  1. Any toll road i have ever been on has a manned booth where you can get change for bills.  You are asking for trouble if you go out ina car with no cash of any kind.  I usually keep at least $5 in quarters, dimes and nickles in my vehicle for emergencies, and never like to go anywhere without at least some cash in my wallet.  You never know.  Now you will get letters in the mail demanding fees up to $25 for each violation.  You just spent $50 for no reason.

  2. On the toll roads in Southern Califorania if you don't pay, they send you a fine in the mail. If the toll was $.25 they'll send you a fine for $25. If it's the first time, the won't bother you.

One time my transponder stopped working and they had to go by the license plate. Well, I had a confidential license plate, so they had to go through the state to get the owner information which took months. A few months later I got over a thousand dollars worth of fines for less than $50 worth of toll fees. I just gave them my account number and they charges only the toll fees.

If you don't have an account and you don't pay the fees, they won't let you register your car next year till you pay.

  3. on the garden state parkway in NJ they will send you a violation ticket showing your vehicle with the license plate clearly shown. I received it once, explained to them why I did not pay and included a check for 35cents.(the amount of the toll)  they accepted it-no problem

  4. Yeah call the operator of the toll booth.  They will tell you to send in the money.

  5. phone the toll people and tell them what happened, they will either give u an address to pay it, or tell u to forget it, but do it quickly, some oths have cameras, and failure to pay could be a pretty good size fine

  6. Not much else you could do.Next time bring some change with you.

  7. Something similar happened to me once on the Washington bridge going to NY, I went into the EZpass lane by mistake, I pressed the help button and I was told to go through and that I would be billed later by mail. In my case, I never received the bill. I guess they accept a certain percentage of payment problems. And I agree, not being able to use a credit card to go through just sucks, especially since it is starting to get expensive.
