I said it to my sister... she is 4 year younger than me.

What sort of reply you would expect?

Or if you were said " I am sorry, Lets forget about it " what would you say?

Or imagine you had a little dispute with your very beloved sister or brother, and you being elder and knowing you are not at fault, but you dont want it to get worse instead you decided to put it all behind by saying " I m sorry, lets forget about it ".

When I said it, I was ready for any sort of reply from her. Because I would still be forgiving, but anyhow the reply was very unexpected from someone I have known all my life.

  1. Honestly...Wdf are you talking about? Are you sure that YOUR not the 4 year old?

  2. i think thats a very adult, mature way of handling it, but it also depend on what the fight was over,  if i gave in so easy, and it sounds like their not gonna be so forgiving either from what u said.  So i'd say walk away and give them some more time to kool off and being our sibling they will and besides your older and wiser so just give it time....time heals all

  3. sorry dont understand ur question

  4. If someone told me they were sorry, I would most likely accept it graciously at face value.

Though I would also expect they would make some reasonable effort to mend their ways. If someone kept doing the same bad or thoughtless or offensive thing to me over and over and over again, eventually it would get to where I wouldn't take their claim to be sorry very seriously.

I suppose also I'd cut a family member a lot more slack than a friend, and a friend a lot more slack than a mere acquaintance.
