What would you do if the passenger was short just 1 penny for his train fee?

I would open up a can of whoop-as@ on that sorry sumbitch and then after a few Stone Cold Stunners, I would throw his sorry as@ off the train at the next stop!!!

Just kidding. I ok it and tell him it's no big deal. It's only a PENNY. All the passengers expect for those few unruly passengers have had enough money for the train fee.

What would you do?

Pay it Forward...if we all took the time to do one nice thing for one person just once in a while, (and do an extra deed everytime someone does something nice for you) the world would likely be a better place.

Well, all the trains I ride in California are "Proof-of-Payment" systems: you HAVE to have a VALID ticket on your person or face ejection from the train... along with a $250USD citation.

I've certainly helped a few dozen folks out with from a quarter to a dollar if they're short over the last 5 years.

BUT I love it when the conductor ejects lil punks trying to ride for free... and the Amtrak cops are waiting at the station for them !!

Totally depends on their attitude, but most likely I would let them off.

Pay it with my own money, unless they were incredibly obnoxious about the whole thing, then too bad. But even at checkouts if someone is a buck or so short and you see that look of panic and embarassment, if i can i give it to them. hopefully i'll get the same back if i ever need it.

I would start by tearing off each finger nail and then the toe nails. I would document his identification and enter the info into the computer so that if he doe's it again you have to right for eye poking or castration. s***w these flunky bastar&s

I would let them ride (as sometimes another passenger *might* over pay their fare ) thereby making you come out even anyway

Just one penny? Nothing to worry about, I've had this situation myself in the past (and more, up to a whole 10p) and put it in myself, or mark it as a loss on the balance sheet and explain to the powers that be that it was either that or no money at all.
