  1. Shrug my shoulders and ask if my parents knew my original surname... And then I'd Google as hard as I could to find my real ancestors. Hah.

  2. ...wonder if my birthday was still the same.

I'd probably be in shock and /or denial as well.

  3. I always knew I was really a princess hidden away with a commoner family because my evil stepmother wanted to kill me.

  4. Since I was born three months premature and suffered from all kinds of health problems, I would further wonder at my parents saintliness of character upon deciding to adopt me and just how they found a little girl who grew up to look like the female version of her dad.  On the other hand, I'd have to start all over on Ancestry.com.

  5. I'd probably be really angry at my parents (both sets), but eventually realise that the parents I know love me more than anything, so that's all that would matter to me. Any biological paretns who could leave me for 24 years don't deserve to know me

  6. I would figure that sure would explain a few things......

  7. Celebrate

  8. Thank God that I'm not related to these nuts!

No seriously, I would be very thankful to my parents who raised me but would still want to get at least health history on my biological parents.  I'd probably also start counseling to deal with any issues that may come up (like abandonment, self-esteem, etc.)

In my case, I look too much like my parents so it's out of the question.

  9. i think i would be relieved

  10. you know, when I read this question I expected there to be a message in the "extra details" section saying something like "because your parents are not your real parents" or something like that anyway...(but good thing that wasn't the case ;) ) well, i think i'd wonder what had happened to my real parents and wonder whether my name had been the name that my real parents had wanted instead of some quick fix job so that my birth certificate could be filled out.

of course i'm saying all this with the full assurance that my parents are my own considering i'm said to look quite a bit like a number of my family members..including my sister...

    Good question....
