if it was just for a day, i'd stay out of the house and go do something. no to candles, flashlights = wayy better, generate less heat. eat the ice cream in the freezer haha :)

I live in the mountains we lose power all the time. Longest was for a 14 days. Floods snow.... Right now the whole dam place is on fire so i cant go out, turn on the cooler or see across the street. That suck. when there is no power i live me life just like i do when the power is on. There is tons to do. you dont have to be plugged in all the time. try a book. i know of some awesome ones for fantasy dorks like myself

Depending on which power you mean.If you mean electricity, i would rest my eyes for a day.Do something practicle or catch up with friends and family.

if its authority, i would try to plan for the future.

I have a small generator - I'd get that going and plug the fridge into it.

If you mean in a less practical sense .. The last time we lost power for a decent amount of time we lit a few candles and played cards. I also got my telescope out to look at the stars, which have usually all but vanished due to all the street & business lights.
