you would bow out of respect and when leaving the room never turn your back towards royalty. It is a sign of disrespect. Do not speak unless spoken to or make eye contact.

I'd do a Praetorian salute. Respect and tradition is good. But I expose my neck to no one, royalty or not.

Have met Prince Charles and Prince Andrew (and a couple of European Royals).  Can't remember anything I said, was just fascinated to see what they looked like in real life.  I was respectful though.
