My father is gone and he left behind a 1988 mazda rx7 convertible I'm still not sure if I want to keep the car or not... it needs a lot of work the interior carpet needs to be replaced (coffee corrosion, it needs a clutch, breaks, starter and battery and i think it leaks oil. Its never been driven in the winter though so it has like no rust.

I have the money but just enough to get it running $1500. (that's just to get it running. Insurance is not included. It has tremendous sentimental value because he bought it when i was 12 and I'm 33 now. but has no practical value.

Would you try to preserve the car??? or would you feel better knowing you saved the 1500+ dollars to use in a more practical way.???

I already have a car that needs a little work as well but is running.

  1. Preserve the car......looks like ur a person who has sentimental values....keep it ok.....You will not feel guilty later!!

  2. Keep it and enjoy it. This sounds like a good memory for you and you will always think of your dad when you work on it or drive it someday. good memories are better than money.

  3. I have no idea of it's value but if I had kept some of my first cars they would be very valuable now
