im 16, and i had a jar full of change adding up to atleast $40. i noticed it was gone, and i asked my mom what happened to it. she said she didn't know, and she even called my brother to ask him what happened to it. well i found out she was the one who took it, and to buy alcohol. she doesn't have a job right now so she doesn't have that much money but yeah she stole it to buy alcohol. what would you do in my position?

  1. tell her that she is supposed to be setting an example for her kids and that not the best that she can do. I would tell her that her taking your money hurt your fellings along with her not coming clean about it.

  2. I've been in that situation i was pissed unfortunatley theres not  a lotu can do make sure u hide anything of value so she cant take it.. sorry you have to deal with this good luck

  3. LMAO OMG

  4. Seize the bottle. Give her a deadline for returning the money ---let's be charitable and say 48 hours---, and tell her if the money is not back by that time, you will pour the booze down the drain. No negotiations, just those conditions. If she hasn't honored the deadline, do what you said you would do. Since the bottle was bought with stolen money, and she won't want that fact aired in court, this approach just might work. (Your mother "took the gloves off" when she swiped your money.) Also, if she calls the police  on you for stealing the bottle, the police will have to hold it for evidence, so she won't get it back right away.

  5. whoop her azz with a belt!!!

  6. Confrontation

  7. Hide your money from now on.

  8. This is such a loaded question that touches on so many issues. The best thing  you can do is open a bank account and put your money there so she or any else cannot touch it.

  9. Id slap that ***** up, not only for stealing and lying about it it, but for being an alcoholic.

  10. Call my Dad or some other stable adult that you could possibly move in with, and BEG them to get me out of there.

  11. the one a few above said it best, bust her bottle of liquor she bought. An expense lesson to learn but she needs to know that the money could have been used to buy food or other necessities of life and not liquor. She needs to attend AA meetings, if she won't go, have an intervention for her. Contact your local AA group for help in setting this up. Sorry your mom has stooped to such a low level in her life but with your love and support, you can bring her back to where she once was. Have patience while doing this, it will take a while.

  12. Take the bottle and smash it on the floor and show her that that could be her brain if she keeps on acting the way she is. I truly feel sorry for u spending so much time collecting money for your mom to waste it on booze she needs to go to AA immediately.

  13. hide it so she can't find it...not much you can do really except to be pissed

  14. Confront her calmly and let her know you know she took it.  Tell her that you are really disappointed in her for stealing from you to buy alcohol.  Let her know that she is a bad influence on you and your learning from everything she does.  Basically make her feel guilty and she will get the point.  Otherwise if that doesn't work call the alcoholic hot-line and talk to someone on how to deal with it.  She probably needs to go to rehab and you are just the person to get her to better herself.  Most alcoholics willingly go to rehab because they hate to hurt their family.  Help her to help you!  Good Luck and I hope this helps!

  15. Keep ever thing hidden, and if it goes on for too long or gets worse you should tell a family member you trust or a school counselor.

  16. find her a job, and make her pay you back. next time hide your money or put a lock on it.

  17. Buy a padlock.

  18. maybe she has a drinking prob. and you should talk to her to get her some help those are signs of addiction
