  1. Go sightseeing, Get into some German food, since I love foreign foods, and most of all meet a fine German dude, because the only thing that is as good as foreign food is a foreign dude with a cute accent.

  2. If you enjoy history, I suggest going to Munchen and taking a tour of "Hitler's Munich."  The tour company is based in the main train station in Munchen.

I would also suggest a guided tour of Dachau.  While the experience can be somewhat saddening, it is very eye-opening.  I would not suggest taking any children though.

  3. I've been to Germany 6 times - 2 were exchanges with school, one was a 2 week work experience (also organised through school) and 3 were holidays. Next year I'll be going for my year abroad there. Berlin is amazing, and there's all the wartime museums and Checkpoint Charlie to go visit. I'm not so keen on the emphasis on the war as it's all in the past but I guess it's just to remind the new generations what atrocities happened and to make sure it never happens again. There's loads of famous sights to see like the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Berlin Wall and the Tiergarten. Berlin is one of the only capital cities that isn't overrated. Erm, I've been to Berlin, Koeln, Kierspe, Luedenscheid, Oberammergau, Muenchen and Duesseldorf as far as I can remember. Went to Duesseldorf for Fasching (carnival) and that was loads of fun! Officially the carnival season starts on 11th November at 11:11am and goes on all over Germany for about 3 months. The craziest time is around March before Easter. Oberammergau is where the Passionspiele is performed every 10 years, went to the last one in 2000 with my family and I'm not religious by any means. It was fascinating, the whole village is in the play and it goes on for a few days. As for other things, the big cities are great for shopping and local history. I've been on tours of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp near Berlin and that was very interesting, if a little morbid.

  4. Well, Germany has so much to offer.. I've already been to Magdeburg and Dresden. Two weeks ago I returned from Bremen and next year I'll be studying in Magdeburg. Since it is most likely that I'll stay there as well, I would like to live in Berlin maybe for a while, meet new people, try to find a good job. Though I would hate to just stick to one city, I would like to live in Bremen, Hanover and Hamburg as well, since I have friends there.

The reason why I like Germany so much is the feeling of unity and inner satisfaction I have while I'm there.

And the question specifically where and what - I don't really care much about that.. wondering around and exploring on my own proved to be just as fun :)
