What would you do in Pickens' shoes?

T. Boone Pickens is in a bit of a pickle. He's a staunch Republican and makes a lot of campaign contributions to conservative politicians. He even gave the maximum contribution to James Inhofe!

Yet congressional Republicans are the ones blocking the renewable energy tax credits which projects like Pickens' wind plan need to succeed.

Joseph Romm suggests that Pickens should give campaign donations to the Democrats who support renewable energy projects.

If you were in Pickens' shoes (and remember, that means you're a staunch Republican), what would you do?

I think he is doing OK--

He has started the big wind project in Pampa Texas-- and the Texas Public Utilities Commission has funded 5 billion in right of way and transmission towers--

While GW advocates ask silly questions about WHO or WHAT political party is the most "green". US hicks down here in Texas will double our wind power AGAIN in the next 2 years.

It is very disingenuous to accuse the Republicans of blocking renewable energy bills --- that contain more impediments to drilling in the details of the Bill-- while Pelosi BLOCKS any and all Bills that are truly comprehensive from even coming to the floor for a vote. Why does she block them? Because they would pass if a vote was permitted.

and for those that believe that TAXING the oil industry will lower prices --- read this-- then give me more thumbs down-- Corporations do NOT pay taxes-- they pass on taxes to you and me in the form of higher prices.

Edit for Lily-- we already have almost 3000 megawatts --- soon to become 7000 megawatts--- and several years later-- 11,000 megawatts-- all tied in to the Texas grid-- and Lily he built them with HIS money-- Texas is providing the transmission towers--
