Ok, one of my attorneys is very good friends with the defendants attorneys. Today, I went to my diabetic foot doctor for my regular appointment and he told me that I should not allow that attorney who is good friends with the defendants attorney to remain my attorney because he would not properly represent me.

What would you do if one of your attorneys was very good friends with the defendants attorneys because not only did that attorney tell me but the defendants attorneys told me that too.

So, would you:

1) Not allow that attorney to remain your attorney because he was very good friends with the defendants attorneys.

2) Allow him to remain your attorney anyway.

  1. Very good friends?  You need a new lawyer!  The conflict of interest might be too heavy.

  2. Number 1. He is friends with the opposing council. He will feel more obligated to make a deal than worry about you his client.

  3. Agree with Trekkie, go for the first option.  The attorney could be worried about making the deal so that he won't jeopardize his friendship rather than represent you.  Get another attorney while you still can.  Good luck.
