Please read this story carefully, it has been created by me:

One day, the Destruction Army from the Otherworld makes an assault upon the Earth with the goal of extinguishing all humans. In all continents, the infrastructure essential to maintain human lives has been almost completely annihilated, and nearly all humans have been eradicated except two: an atheist boy and a religious girl, both are still in their youth. They are lucky enough to escape the havoc wreaked upon the rest of the world and found a dark corner in an abandoned warehouse to hide themselves. Here they share the tiny amount of food left in the world with each other, and eat in dead silence, hoping they would not be found. Unfortunately, before the only surviving humans on Earth could share their last piece of food, the Destruction Army rushes in the abandoned warehouse where they have been hiding. Surrounded by the overpowering Destruction Army, the desperated boy and girl hold each other closely, their blazing eyes glaring at the gruesome monsters. The only remaining boy and girl on Earth are only given a choice to survive: letting one of them be killed. The remaining one has to become slave to the Destruction Army in the Otherworld. If they oppose the Destruction Army and choose to die together, the Earth will explode violently right after they fall, eliminating everything including the monsters.

If you were the boy and the girl in that story, what would you do?

  1. What possible difference could it make? Pick which version of the end of the human race you want, it's still a dead end story, hence uninteresting.

If I were the boy I would want to die to get the h**l out of the story and if I were the girl I would want to die to get the h**l out of the story. What possible difference could their beliefs make to an inane idea?

  2. Destruction army in your story can't dare to kill any of them because as long as they live Earth will remain, I'm sure the girl and boy would see that they are more powerful than the army although they are only 2 people, so the girl and the boy can force them to leave them alone, because they are in the position who holds the power because with their death they can also bring the army's death.

Even if the army randomly chooses to kill one of them, then the living one still can threaten them because her or his death could cause their own death also, they can't force one of them to choose to die or become a slave.

    Edit:

If I were one of them I would tell the other one to threaten them with killing ourselves till they accept leaving us both alone, they can't risk dying along with us.

  3. pull a romeo and juliet.

  4. Very interesting story, kind of a fable because it has deep philosophical and spiritual concepts unto itself.

Well, answering your question, the boy would definitely make the girl be killed while he become slave of the Destruction Army.

I believe the girl would follow Jesus Christ path and resist the Destruction Army of the Otherworld even if it means the destruction of everything like herself because the monsters would go down too.

I would choose the second choice, I will go down and take the monsters with me.

  5. ...kill ourselves...to eliminate all...

  6. I don't think that either person should die according to their religion. I would think though that the girl, being religious would have some kind of 'martyr' sense in this case.

    It's a coin toss.

  7. The decision is difficult.  If I were the girl then I would want to die because I would know that I would go to be with the Lord, but I would not want the boy to die, hoping that he would come to know God.  I would probably volunteer to be the one to die.

If I were the boy, then the question is more difficult, because I don't have any hope of heaven or fear of h**l.  The question becomes, do I want to subject myself or the girl to these monsters, or would I rather snuff it now.

I'd probably choose to die and hope she wanted to die, also, because who wants to leave monsters like that running around loose.  On the

other hand, I might want to live as long as possible and so sacrifice the girl.  I'll assume I'm a conscientous atheist and choose death for us both in order to get rid of the bad guys.
