  1. Get a cool light.

Paint the whole room a dark color like deep red or green OR, paint it a bright color like a cheery yellow or something. Leave the cabinets white, they're cute! But, get new handles for them.

    Replace the floor with hardwood.

  2. just get a renovation squad to have a look they tell you whats good then you be able to know all about it whats good whats not,.

  3. Wow, what a wonderful room to start with.

First, decide what color(S)you want to go with the black and white (any color will go).

Then get a colored shade over the window (use darker shade of whatever color you chose for the walls e.g. lavendar walls to dark purple shade and assessories).

Any style of shade you like.

(I am assuming you don't want to go into too much money-like changing cabinet color, etc...)

Then same color scheme in towels, rug (to go before the sink) I think it would be kind of neat to find some pretty tiles to go above the counter-tops to draw in the color you choose.

Perhaps do some stenciling around the light fixtures (perhaps ivy leaves with some color scheme flowers or fruit). A color scheme cookie jar... etc...this could be fun!

  4. nwe stainless steal apliences, new floor  (maybe ceramic tile) and give the walls some color.

  5. That looks like an entirely brand new kitchen!  I would add a backspack in maybe a small glass tile.  I would paint above the cabinets to lower the ceiling. With both of these, I would choose a warm color like a spice, saffron or red. But, it looks as if you have a lot of light to the kitchen and it depends on the look that you want. You may want to cool it down with a green.  I like the look of the room and do not see anything wrong with the floor.  If you decide to change it, I would do a floor to complement your countertop.  If anything, I would remove the task overhead light and put in a perimeter of highhats and maybe some undercounter lights to take away from the flourescent.

I would add some vingettes on the countertop.  Maybe some fruit in a clear glass vase or a decorative plate or tray on a plate stand.  Add a few bottles of oils or a textured basket of fruit.  You could also add a tray with a bottle of wine with a few glasses.  It just needs a little greenery or organic material to warm up the counters in which ever way you want to accomplish this.  Some red geraniums in some clay plots would also do the trick.

But, I think once you bring the ceiling down with a paint color above your cabinetry which should also complement your backspash, you can go from there with your accessories.  But I would choose some warm tones if the room does not appear at light as the photo shows or a cool color to balance out the sunlight..   Good luck.

  6. I would add red everywhere in that room. The only thing I might change is the lighting on the ceiling because it looks dated. Red curtains with a print in it. A red rug in front of the sink. A small framed print on the counter in a black small easel; a few bottles of oil with red peppers, garlic, etc. On top of the cabinets I'd put a little bit of copper with some ivy, a few dishes that incorporate red. I'd change it with accessories because you have a good basic kitchen to start with.

  7. first i would change the floor, then paint the walls, then maybe strip the cabinets and stain them, then change the hardware on them.appliances look good

  8. i personally would change it into a 50s themed kitchen! leave the floors and paint the walls. (maybe red or yellow. something old fashioned looking) get a new fridge if your budget permits. i've seen a lot of new fridges that are made to look 50s style. this website has tons of ideas to point you in the right direction: http://ezinearticles.com/?Fabulous-50s-R...

  9. first off you have a gorgeous kitchen but its too black and white.  I would redo the flooring with laminate hardwood it not real hardwood but it last longer and there is less up keep with it.  also I would get different appliances maybe stainless or straight black or straight white  for paint if you like natural i would go for something like a rich cream if you  want something more bold i would go for maybe a pale green or blue.  maybe even put up some tiles on the wall  for a back splash

  10. 1. Paint it..with 2 tones

    2. add a backsplash

    3.replace cabinet handles...

    4. try replacing the counter top with a granite tile countertop....1/3 of the price of a granite slab

    5. change the tile with a stone type-tile

    good luck
