okay so i just had varsity volleyball tryouts today. thing is, i made the bottom 4, the coach said she could only carry 8-10. there was 12 ppl trying out today. i was #11.

she told me she still has to see 2 more people that she promised a chance, they're on vacation. so she said it's gonna be 2/3 of the girls who would make the final 12. she told me to still tryout with the girls on vacation b/c i have heart and that it would be a learning year for me, if i chose to keep going. she also stated that the bottom 4 out of the 12 would get little to no playtime.

so even if i did make that 2/3, i would get no playtime.

should i stick with it to learn or should i quit &save the time, effort, &money?

I have been playing since the 6th grade, i worked so hard for this hence i am confused on what to do.

i still want to play my senior year.

what should i do?what would you do?

  1. I think that you should continue if that is what you truly desire!  Even if you don't play, so what!  There is more to it than just playing [even though it would be great if you do!].  You can have a great learning experience, and you can cheer on your team.  I've been there, I know how you feel.  It was between me and this other girl during the last day of tryouts and I luckily beat her to the spot on Varsity.  I didn't play that first year but now i am a starter.  Hey!, if you get better as the season progresses, you can even play on like a scrimmage game [if there is] or be one of the starters.  I really think that you shouldn't quit because it will be a great experience for you as a senior!  Good Luck!

  2. you could still go to practices right???

that way you'd still learn, then when the next tryouts come, you can use the knowledge to your advantage, see what i'm sayin? it would also show the coach your committed to the team. and the coach would also get to see your strong points in the practice, then next time, see would consider you more. if it was me, I'd do it!

    I wish you the best!

  3. i just quit soccer, and it's my senior year.

i quit because i knew i wasn't going to get any playing time.

so now i am managing the boys soccer team.

i suggest you ask the coach if you can be the manager!

  4. Keep going don't give up!

  5. Stick with it. even if you get no playing time you will have the experience of  being on the team and will only get better thru practice. What  happens if half way thru the season your better than the starters...I'll bet you  see playing time

  6. Like my mom says to me. If that is where your heart is then go for it and never give up your dream or the sport you like. NEVER give up...

  7. Volleyball isint as popular so there are more chances for schalarships. Local YMCAs and recplex have many classes that helped me a lot. Just don't quit!!

  8. Keep on keeping on! If it's what you love then keep going with it! Learning would be a good choise and plus if you want to play next year then you may not have a better learning experience before then

    Hope i helped!
