  1. Between 500 and 650, but I have seen them advertised for more.

  2. Currency exchange wise you paid on the high end of things what mot would pay over here for a pet quality animal but about the normal for a show prospect with great pedigree lineage.  What they lady paid would be about what most here would pay for a pet quality lab in the US, of course here labs are a dime a dozen almost so you could pay anything from fairly cheap to very expensive - 6 breeders in my general area alone

You paid for quality animals are are happy with it so that is what counts. Do you feel like you got ripped off?

  3. It depends on the dogs bloodlines and if the sire and dam are top winning show dogs which have been producing other top winning dogs. If they have not then they are maybe being realistic asking for what is classed as a lower price for the breed.

After all if you are looking for what could be a top winning dog you wont choose a pup from parents who have not won anything or possibly never been shown.

The other thing is a lot of breeder will try it on to get as much money as possible for their pups.

  4. I think you should contact your local Retriever rescue and give a homelss dog a home instead of supporting breeders.  Just my opinion.

  5. I wouldn't really pay more than £350-£400 for a labrador or a retreiver.

  6. £250 or $500 is what I would expect if it was a Backyard Greeder.  Well bred Goldens from a "Reputable" breeder will run between $1000 (£500) - $1500 (£750) depending on it's lines.

  7. We paid £450 for our first Golden and she is 7 now.  We bought the second Golden from the same breeder 4 years ago and she cost £700 and her Dam is a Crufts Field Dog Champion.

Given the fantastic temperament of my two girls, I would have honestly paid more.  I think the average from a reputable breeder now is about £650.

  8. I bought mine for 450 pound pedigree golden retriever that was 11 years ago..
