I am just wondering because I am looking into purchasing a board that will do great in tahoe (my area). I currently ride a burton baron 162 with flow bindings. I recently just bought the burton triad bindings (they looked liked they would be more responsive) and am looking for a great powder board. I had my eye on the burton malolo but have heard horrible things about its durabillity. thanks for any opinions and offerings.

  1. Its hard to say which is the best board for freeriding and powder as there are so many good boards about and alot of the time it comes down to personal choice. Id say one of the best brands for freeride boards is Palmer, although there boards are quite pricey but they seem to be the brand that alot of advanced freeriders really rate. Some boards you should check out are

    Palmer  Crown Le

    Palmer Honeycomb

    Nitro Suprateam

    K2 Eldorado

    K2 Gyrator

    Burton Supermodel

    Atomic Radon

    Arbor Roundhouse

    Ride Yukon

    Rome Notch

    Rome Anthem

    Good luck with the riding

  2. Look into the Head Ak.  It is a way directional powder board with a fat nose.

  3. Burton Fish for pure powder.

Burton Malolo for Powder, But more all around than fish.

They both have tapered Noses, they are alot wider at the nose and it works great for powder. The malolo has a little bit of a taper, but not as much as the Fish.
