Question:

What would you have asked?

A man went up to Heaven and asked God something, he asked, "How do I win the lottery?"

God Politely leaned back in his throne and said, "You guess the right numbers then turn it in." The man then retured to Earth not at all wiser.

Assuming God would answer you according to your words and how specific you are what would you ask God?

Now please understand I am agnostic so I use God as almost a metaphor, a gateway for those who read this to understand if somehow by asking you could receive an answer about something what would you ask. So don't get all religous or anti-religous on me here.

  1. I have proof of only one answered prayer, I have prayed to God.

My ex-husband is a recovering alcoholic.  Twice, he was in intensive care, with liver failure.  The doctor had given him 24 hours to live.  He was in a mental hospital many, many times, in the locked ward.  He lived on the street, in alleyways for a long time.  He started drinking before I met him and I was 13 when we met.

About 10 years ago he was looking like death was waiting at his door.  He was so sunken in and emaciated, pale, almost grey looking.  And he was so skinny, he had to have help when he walked.  It was a few weeks before christmas and I had asked him to come for dinner, that I had made him something special.  I really didn't think he would make it till then.  So I prayed.  When he came, I got down on my knees, in front of my six children and present husband and read the poem I had written him,  about the 40 years we had struggled with our lives, since our divorce.  I told him if he wanted to die, this was his choice.  But i pleaded with him to come to know the Lord before he went.

We always take pictures at family get togethers and this was no exception.  I still have these pictures and the pictures taken six months later, in my bible.

You would not believe the before and after pictures of this man!  Nobody could ever convince me that God does not exist!  That God does not hear our prayers!  He spared this man's life, literally before my eyes!

    Ask and you shall receive!

  2. I would ask him: what are the winning lottery numbers for the lottery ticket I am holding that if I had the right numbers according the lottery company, would allow me to win several million dollars (which are human currency on Earth)? WTF is god gonna say to that. I would state the name of the lottery company of course and show him my ticket and say THIS CARD. And I would say Dont play dumb with me God, you created everything dont get smart with me because I know you know because you made it up.

I dont believe in god  either, just using it as a metaphor.

  3. well by my readings gods are tricky beings and I must ask myself do I want to put myself though this ordeal  first- If I decided to go just for the craic.

I would ask - "is there anything I can do that would be helpful for saving humanity in its present crisis - like giving me the plans for an alternate natural renewable  energy source to be given free to all the world simultaneously.

if the answer depended upon "tell them I said I'd ask for  irrefutable evidence" the god would have to deliver the message.

  4. The man did not ask "How CAN I win the lottery", so god was deceptive. How can you trust a deceptive god?
