I was in vegas recently at a V.N.E.A event, i had just finished losing a $1000 to a buddy of mind lol (stevie moore ) playing 1 pocket. When i ran across alex pagalayan or however you spell you guys know who im talking about. he offered me 11 games in a 15 ahead set, on a bar box for $5000. i play on bar boxes regualry around home, so this offer intrigued me. But i thought about it and where im capable of stringing 6-7 maybe even 9-10 racks together on a bar box.the thought of losing the lag and him putting the set on me loomed in my mind. so i declined unless i could have the opening break, what would you have done ?

  1. This is too much for me guys......I choked just when I heard the name of the opponent....what I would give to even have the game to "talk this talk" and then be able to walk it....somebody has got game.....and money for that matter!!......good luck!.....just for the record, at my age I consider myself a rookie....so excuse the stupid question what is a bar box?.....are we talking about a bar table?

  2. Did you ask for the break ?? most  pros would give it to you

Could he have ran 15 racks ??

If you get a shot your in control of the game.

Would $5 K have been the end of the world ?

How many times have you seen him play ?

There are lots of Questions in what you ask,Myself I would have gone for it.

I dont go to Lost Wages to be a spectator.

  3. Here's the deal as I understand it:

You get 11-games on the wire going to 15 ahead for 5-G's?

That means he has to overcome that 11 plus his 15 for a total of 26-games for the win.

You only have to win 4-games... if you get a shot?

You were right not to take it.

Personally speaking I would have tried him for one-thousand, but not five just to see how long I could hold him off... and make side bets that I would last that long. I can stall when I have to.
