The two are in opposition. You cannot both be conscious and dreaming- unless there is an issue with the mechanism that separates reality and dream. That disturbance would be psychosis.

I do not recommend you become psychotic. I have never met a truly happy psychotic. And it is the onus of every human to seek happiness and health.

It's called lucid dreaming, you can totally learn to do it, there are a number of methods. Check it out.

sometimes when your dreaming you can know your dreaming..its happened to me before where i let the dream happen because i knew it was a dream...but it doesnt always happen...a dream is something you cant always control...dreams are not even that long they are only a few seconds long

I think you are referring to lucid dreaming, which is possible, but it takes practice.  Google lucid dreaming and you'll get a wealth of information about how to get started.
