  1. Since weight and volume are major considerations, I always visit a sporting goods store and stock up on freeze-dried dishes.  Reconstitute 'em with boiling water and you've got a quick and easy meal.  Same with dried fruits and energy foods.  And we use powdered lemonade.  None of this will measure up to home-made cooking, but hey - if you were so concerned with a magnificent feast, you'd stay home and not go camping!  The idea is to maintain your nutrition and energy levels so you can enjoy your week in the outdoors.

Now, if I'm going camping primitive style, as in going to a fur-trapper's rendesvous, a Civil War or Revolutionary War re-enactment, THAT is a whole 'nother ballgame.  No farby freeze-dried stuff allowed!

  2. Granola bars & energy bars, trail mix, jerky if you like it, top ramon / only need water to cook it. Can food like soup & demimore stew or other brands.Lots of water and crystal light to add to water for a taste break.CANDY LOTS!!!

  3. If you got a fridge bring anything you like.

Fruits like apples, pears, bannana's, oranges, watermelon, and grapefruit are always nice to have in the woods. (You can make fruit salad, and cooked desserts with them too)

Biscuits and gravy (You can buy country gravy that is add water only) Any gravy really... Gravy is good on the trail. And biscuits can be made in a pan.... You can make donuts with biscuit mix too.

Fresh fish, if you're near water. (Cook on spot)

    Soups (can)

    Tuna (can)

Pasta and pasta salads (Dry, cook on spot)

    MRE's

    Spam

    Ramen noodles

    Deviled ham

Tomato Brushcetta (it's good without the cheese too)

Mac and cheese (If you bring nondairy creamer, you can make cream for cooking with it)

    Skillet Potato's with onions

Pork and beans ( maybe add some barbeque sauce or molasses)

    Flap jacks

    Corn on the cob

    Garden vegetable shishkabobs

    Roasted veggies

    Mashed potatoes

Marshmellows, chocolate, peanut butter and grahm crackers.

Watch out for bears and other wildlife that might think you're it's next dinner.

  4. Big mac's, Kfc's, Pizza hut's, Wendy's, and Timmy,s

    Oh Burgerking for backup

  5. Do you have to carry every thing in your back pack?  Is so go for really light, dried foods like pasta, rice, noodles which just need water addes before cooking. You can get a lot of these ready made - up with dried veg and flavouring etc in camping shops but also in the supermarket.

If you don't have to worry about carrying stuff but don't have a way to keep stuff fresh for a week you can add cans to the list.  You get curry, stew, macaroni cheese, rice pudding and tinned tomates and other veg like sweetcorn.
