What would you pay for an 03 Anniversary Heritage Springer?

A buddy of mine calls me on the weekend asking if he should buy a bike he found. An 03 heritage springer with 87kms not 87,000km, not 8700... 87. The guy wanted $19000 CDN for it, I told him it was too much, and that he should pay $15K max. It's just like new and all, but with an 88" instead of the new 96". So he buys it anyways.

Did he overpay or am i being too cheap on it? (my thinking was with normal mileage on it, it was only a $12K bike)

  1. In this market I woulds offer 9-10k american . see how they bight but springers are rare test drove the screemin eagle springer in daytona sweet bike .

  2. A new Heritage Softail retails for about the same price. It's not a springer, but you get the bigger motor and a warranty. I'd say he paid too much.

  3. I'd give you $20, but i don't have much use for a paint shaker...;-)

    edit:

KBB lists dealer price at $13,240 if it comes with windsheild and bags...

low mileage like that, maybe you're closer, but definitely too much for said bike

  4. Sn00p, as much as I want to value your opinion and choice on what is a fine or not acceptable motorcycle, I find myself ignoring you.

    LOL

    Get a GSXR-1000 bud, live a little.

I've been going through instructor prep, and found no sportbikes available, only cruisers and standards. After spending 3 hours on a crusier (Kawasaki Elimiator 125) I can now see why you guys like forward controls.

Nothing like a sportbike though, sadly.

  5. tell him i'll trade him for my sporty,if he throws in a box of beer for the ride home.

where the heck is everybody??b4l,bob,ij ?
