What would you perfer a ttr 125 or a yz 125

The yz is bigger and more powerful, but the ttr would be good for shorter riders that can't get on a yz.

Depends on the riders skill level and where you intend to ride. A TT-R is a great trail bike and is easy for a beginner to ride, also very low maintenance. The downside is that it's very heavy compared to the YZ, it is not nearly as fast and cannot handle any real jumping so it isn't suited for riding on a motocross track. The YZ on the other hand is very fast for a 125, very light, great suspension. It excels on the track of course but like all 125 2 strokes, it sucks on trails. It is also a horrible bike for a beginner.

Me personally i would chose the YZ, it is a much stronger bike then the TTR. The YZ is a two stroke dirt bike, where as the TTR is a 4 stroke trail bike.

It all depends on what you want to do with the bike, race and jump then get the YZ. Trail ride and putt around TTR.

well do you want a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke..the 4 stroke will last longer but the 2 stroke will be quicker and have a more violent power band which means you will be spending most of your time in the ER then on the track!!
