  1. Glock - German (austrian) quality.

  2. I have 3 Glocks and would not trade any of them for a Taurus or a Smith. Yes, it's common for people to buy used guns.

  3. It depends,

    I would say

    1. Glock unless it is an S&W revolver

    2. S&W

    3. Taurus revolvers

taurus autos, had 2 traded them both, also had a Sigma S&W .40 was not great but the M&P Smith and wesson was awesome.

  4. I take polical issue with S&W, Glocks aren't the most comfortable for me, and I believe that Taurus pistols are Brazilian copies of S&W.

My preferences out of the way, S&W and Glock are both good solid companies with a host of excellent reliable products.

Taurus, not so much, but some folks like them.

It really depends on what you want and what you want it for.

  5. I'd go with the S&W. I don't know enouigh about taurus so I'm not risking my money and I think Glocks are overated. Yes there good but the way some praise them it's like those people who think a .22 will bounce around inside a persons chest off of bones.

  6. Depends on for what im using them...i like the S and W, as well as the taurus for hunting. Also i have bought quiet a few used guns from dealers before..so what is your question excatly?

  7. Smith & Wesson of course in 357 Magnum only.* Its the best caliber.*

  8. I would choose the Taurus over the other two. I never liked Glocks and because of the size of my hand the slide comes real close to biting me. I also do not like S&W semi-autos due to bad experience with purchase of one.

I would choose other brands over the Taurus but my buddy has a 24/7 Pro in 9mm and it shoots very smoothly.

and yes...buying used guns from a dealer is as common as buying a used car from a dealer....

  9. I'd buy a Sig, Springfield or a Colt. If for some reason you have to sell your guns, they might hold their value a little longer. And if you are to hand them down to your children, then it's worth something.

  10. I would pick a Smith and Wesson, but it depends on what you are going to use it for. You can find used firearms that are in very good condition and depending on where you live they may be advertised in your local paper. If they are not you can go to www.cabelas.com and look through the "gun library"

  11. Sure, I buy used guns all the time. If you are careful, you can get some good deals on nice guns.

As for which type? depends on what I would use it for.

As far as personal choice between the 3 you listed, I would buy in this order:

    1) S&W

    2)Glock

    3) with great hesitation based on personal and customer experience..the Taurus.

  12. I've bought dozens of guns used from dealers!

You can save hundreds of dollars that way.

A modern firearm with minimal maintainance will remain safe and useful for oh, say,

... a hundred YEARS or more!....

Used, doesn't mean much as long as the firearm has not been ABUSED.

    As to your other question,

    Smith and Wesson.

Besides the fact that their quality is unquestionably superior,

Smith and Wesson guns, are made in America by Americans.

Buy American and insure the future of our firearms industry!

Buy American and keep jobs in America!

  13. A lot of the people who tend to rate and answer on these forums seem prejudiced against Glocks...but they are semi-autos that are about as reliable as revolvers.  They have three internal safeties, no external safeties to confuse you when you're in a panic self-defense scenario, can fire underwater (though you don't want be in that water due to the shock wave), and they need very little maintenance, are highly accurate relative to their barrel lengths - and popular with many law enforcement agenices for the foregoing reasons.

  14. Glock

  15. I have and use S&W and Glock pistols regularly. Taurus is good too.

What do you mean buying a used gun from a dealer?

I'm a dealer and I sell new and used guns. Some of the used guns I took on trade-in and other I picked up for resale.

  16. I would pick different makers for different guns for different applications

I have bought a few used guns from dealers

It's pretty much the only way I'll buy a gun from a dealer

  17. Glock everytime.
