Score 401 against Bangladesh in a test match, and forever be known as the player who broke Brian Lara's record of highest score in a test match.

OR

Score 100 against Australia (against England if you are from Australia)

What would you rather do?

  1. I have been known to dream about scoring a hundred against Australia. I take heaps of abuse from the Aussies throughout my innings, but through sheer grit and determination (I would obviously be batting in the style of 'you know who'), I would reach a magnificent hundred, and be applauded by all the Aussie fielders for my match-winning effort, and cheered to the echo by the Antipodean spectators, hecklers and all.

Scoring 401 against Bangladesh, even if it did set a new world record, would be a hollow triumph.

And in terms of my dreams, I think I really do need to get a life!

  2. Score 100 against you guys!!...

    What a dream come true..lol

  3. Against England! More glory attatched to that.

  4. To score just about 10 runs when the team needs it the most.

e.g. There is a set batsman at the other end, I come in as the last man. Last day, last session; deteriorating pitch, fading light. Team needs about 40 runs to win. The rivals are bowling very well. The few runs I get will be precious.

  5. I would score 401 runs against Bangladesh and break Lara's record. Scoring 100 runs against England or Australia is not a big deal as far as I'm concern.

  6. make my debut against bangladesh and score 401 and then get selected for the ashes squad and score a 100 against australia...would be one h**l of  a season

  7. I would love to score 401 against Australia which will be history in Cricket and will become legend

  8. Mate it is every Aussie's dream to score 100 against their 'rivals' the Poms...

Mind you i would'nt mind being known as the person who broke Lara's record either, but scoring 100 against England would be 'the bee's knees'....

  9. I would rather score 100 against Australia. It would prove what a good player I was. There is no glory in beating Bangladesh, no matter how many runs you get.

  10. score 100 against Australia for sure. That would be a major achievement for me. I reckon the pressure Australia put on the opposition is very tough and there bowling and fielding is always tight.

    Really good question.

  11. got to be 401.australia's big rivals are not england, but SA.for all foreign players one of the biggest and sought after things is getting a 100 at lords.after 401,the next best for me,would be 100 on the first day of the boxing day test in melbourne playing for england.that would shut the mouths of 70.000 aussies watching.

  12. 401* against Bangladesh!! At least i'll go into the record books!! LOL!! Although i wouldn't mind scoring 100 against Australia!! GOod Q!!

  13. i will score 401 to break the record...

  14. i would like to score 100 against Australia rather than scoring 401 vs bangladesh.

  15. i would love to score 150+ in srilanka against sri lanka at the scc on the 4th and 5th day of a test match while murli and mendis are bowling from each end.....

    now thats an achievement....

  16. score 401

  17. Score 401 against Australia !

  18. Probably scoring a century agin the old enemy would be more noteworthy for me.

The same could be asked of bowlers: 1000 wickets against Bangladesh,  Zim and Papua NG or 150 against the MCC? :)
