  1. She is not nearly as experienced as Obama.  Even the whole election process has shown how well he can put together a great team who knows what they are doing and can work together.  He has some experience at national politics, she has none.  And he has a law degree and has actually taught constitutional law... Given the problems with our current pres and the constitution, I think it is a great thing to understand.

  2. I'd rather have an experienced President and somewhat experienced VP than an inexperienced President and an experienced VP.

Besides, it's time to speak up against the socialist tilt my party has taken.

    Democrats for McCain.

  3. 8 years in the Illinois state senate and 3 years in the US senate equates to no experience in Washington? She has been Governor of Alaska for LESS than two years. While being in an executive position, it's an executive position in a state with population less than  Memphis, Tennessee! but can I say that the woman doesn't even have her masters degree! Shouldn't a potential United States president have a masters in law or politics? She has a bachelors in journalism!!! Obama graduated from law school at HARVARD!!! Is this not a big deal to anyone?

  4. The thing is, Palin has more EXECUTIVE experience than McCain or Obama. Being a member of the state legislature or the House/Senate for X amount of years doesn't give you the proper type of experience needed to be President (although I won't argue that it does give experience).

It's one thing to be one member of hundreds voting on a bill. But it's another thing all together to try and get all the branches of the government to work together.

Palin has this experience (al biet on a much smaller scale), which is lacking in Obama and McCain, due to her time as Governor of Alaska and as a Mayor before that. While she may lack Federal government experience, she does have experience getting different branches of (a smaller) government working together.

McCain/Palin is a strong ticket for a couple reasons.

    1) You got McCain's experience in the Federal government coupled with Palin's Executive experience. This means he knows how Washington works, and she knows how to get the branches to work together.

    2) Obama has shown that he talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk. He talks about being a candidate for change, yet picked a 35 year veteran of Congress as his VP candidate. He's played into the "Washington insider" concept (and played to the typical Washington VP choice by bringing in an "old white guy"). McCain is the one, in this situation, who has broken the process by bringing in a "young white woman".

    3) McCain has shown himself to be a very moderate Republican, bordering on Democrat. This has disenfranchised him from many Republicans (including the Religious Right who got Bush elected twice) - despite the cries of "McSame" from the Democrats. By bringing in Palin, who is more conservative than him, he can allay some of the fears of the (neo)conservative Republican base. Furthermore, given how often people are citing McCain's age, Palin may serve to bring in the disenfranchised Hillary supporters since there is a chance that Palin will end up President should McCain die - which means they'd see a woman in office in their lifetime.

  5. I never thought I would say this but I am now officially voting for John McCain. I was gonna support Bob Barr but now not so much. I have differences with McCain but his choice is clear that he hears his base. He hears the people with values and a faith in God. He hears those of us who may disagree with him on several issues his pick of Palin tells me simply he respects those differences. I am now fully behind the next president of the United States John McCain

  6. Last month Palin said she didn't even know what the Vice President does.

    Yesterday McCain lost his pants.

  7. i don't care about experience, but the dan quayle references have already begun.  mccain likely sunk himself today.

  8. We need a VP with some experience like d**k Cheney!

  9. Read the papers, listen to the news. She has more accomplishments in politics than osama. I think McCain made an awesome choice. Osama talks about change but who really made changes and really shook things up?????  I think they are calling them mavericks!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Amen!

We are voting for the top of the ticket, not the bottom.

And even if we were....Palin is more qualified than either Obama or Biden!

    McCain/Palin  2008

  11. Two people with NO domestic experience.

I'll take my chances with Obama.

    Thumbs down = Turth.

  12. I think that it is a mute argument. Unless you have held the office prior, no one has experience. If experience was a requirement our choices would be narrowed to Cheney, Gore and  Quail... anyone what to go their?

And what are we talking about anyways? The ability to make choices between column A and column B. Short of having a lunatic be elected the USA runs on autopilot. Other than lots of smoke and a little chipping at the edges by either candidate or party the status quo has no intent on meaningful change. Get real, get serious.

Take health care.... they have been talking about that since Grover Cleavland yet it has never come to pass. I hate to break it to you young folks, but it is much better to use health care as a wedge issue than to actually do anything about it. So don't hold your breath.

  13. Neither, I want McCain/ Palin 2008

  14. im voting for obama i was going to vote for mccain but not anymore cause he chose a vp with no experience! what if something happens to mccain and she takes over....what are we going to do??//

  15. Liberals are scared of the inexperience argument with obama because they know it works ..... He's inexperienced and there's nothing that disputes that. Palin has more executive experience than obama.

  16. Experience? Bush's "experience" was being the governor of Texas and owning the Texas Rangers baseball team. That hardly qualifies as "experience".
