What would you recomend for a good vegetarian cookbook?

I've been a vegetarian for a while and I find that I am making a lot of the same kinds of things. But I would really enjoy a cookbook for vegetarians that could help me change up my diet. I kind of want quick things, not like fancy 5 star resturant dishes or anythying like that. So any really good books that you'd recomend?

please and thank you soooo much

  1. I recommend getting recipes from the internet rather than buying a cookbook.  Often, recipes are rated or reviewed so you can see what people liked or didn't like about them.  Also, you may need to make some substitutions if you don't have all the ingredients available.

If you can, go to vegetarian restaurants and try foods to see what you like.  Then, look up the recipes.

    Bon appetite!

  2. I love, love, love love Vegan with a Vengeance and Veganomicon.  They are both great.  Sarah Kramer's books are pretty good too, but they don't top Isa's.  Moosewood restaurants also put out great vegetarian cookbooks.

  3. Veganomicon, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook, Vegan Planet,  Eat, Drink, & Be Vegan, The Joy of Vegan Baking, The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen, The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook , & Vegan with a Vengeance.

  4. Vegan with a Vengeance and Veganomigon are both great books. I'm vegan so I know more vegan books than vegetarian...those two are a great place to start though. You can also go to the authors' website and look around there and on linked sites; a great way to find recipes.

  5. Vegetarian (mainly, there are fish recipes in it)- Moosewood Restaurant Low-Fat Favorites

    Vegan-

Peaceful Palate has many simple and tasty recipes

I also second Vegan With A Vengeance

and The Joy of Vegan Baking is also delightful

  6. Passionate Vegetarian, by Crescent Dragonwagon (yes, that's really her name) is probably the best one that I have. There are about a million recipes for everything from soup to dessert, including a big section on quick and easy meals.

It has a fair selection of vegan dishes, too, if you ever need to cook for someone who doesn't eat dairy/eggs.

  7. The Meat and Potatoes Vegetarian Cookbook

    and

    Vegan Planet
