What would you recommend: Mt. St. Helens from Toutle or Randle?

I always go through Toutle, I have heard the route through Randle isn't as scenic and may not be as easy to drive.  It's a great trip up there, check the weather first as a clear day up there makes it all the better.

We went there from Toutle, it was spectacular. Also, we got hungry so we grabbed a bite to eat at the Toutle Diner (ok food.) In my view, Mt. St. Helens is cooler than Mt. Rainer! Good luck, and have fun. It is a scenic drive, with lots of views and stops along the way.
