...Do we have anything in common?" Does it sound insolent? It does to me. To be honest, I was flirting, teasing and picking on him and, probably, showed the most shallow side of me, though he's aware I'm educated (MA in Litteture) and quite intelligent . He has a PHD. Ahh, big deal!

  1. To me, it actually sounds quite insulting, at the least, condescending. How would I reply? "Wonder no more, because quite honestly I have been asking myself the same question and have reached the conclusion that I have been wasting my time. Good luck for the future".

Who cares if you have anything in common? This guy is nothing but a mind game player and a manipulator, dump him pronto is my advice. Maybe he has doubts about your MA in Litteture (sic) dump him anyway, good luck.

  2. In terms of "etiquette" it sounds as if he thinks he is God's gift to womankind and I wouldn't worry too much except to be polite and ladylike.  Reply but I would honestly tell him it was all just "simply a fun flirtation" and that you never expected or wanted anything more out of it.  Let it go at that.  We all do things that we don't understand why we do....but then again we are women.  You are a smart and mature woman and have done nothing to be ashamed of.  Chalk it up to experience.

    Peace & Love :)

  3. Actually sounds a little rude if you ask me....
