    It has happened by the way..


  2. I would find out what was going on with them before I even concidered it.

    Are they on the rebound from someone else?

    Are they under the influence of something?

    Have their feelings for you gone to a different level?

    If I said yes...would the next day anyone feel guilty and the friendship is going to be over?

    If after I knew those answers  - it still seemed like a good idea then, sure.

    you could really mess up a friendship by having s*x.  s*x will change things.  Is it really worth it?

    Is the close friend unattractive?

    If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes", it's a bad idea.
