  1. i know this is awful sounding

    but rushing my sorority

i had to leave home and go through SO much in the first 2 weeks of college

it was full of rejection, while managing my own life and discovering who i was on steroids, and i wasn't prepared

    but you never are

but i am a stronger person now, and thriving and no longer dependent on anyone or thing

and that and another thing have made me almost fearless

from ditching school in the states to study in france and skydiving in switzerland, bring it

  2. Compared to you, my story is nothing. My son son just turned 3. When he was 18 months, he had to have surgery done on both eyes. It was REALLY hard to let the surgeon carry him off screaming, and it was even harder seeing him after his surgery. He was just coming off the anesthetic, so he was confused. His eyes were bloody red and he was screaming for an hour and a half. We couldn't calm him down. He had bloody eyes for almost 2 weeks. We got nasty looks from people, who probably assumed we abused him. That was really hard, but like I said, NOTHING compared to what you have been through with your niece.

  3. I havent really gone through anything tramatic being a parent, and hopefully wont have to. my son just turned 2, the hardest thing i've had to deal with was weaning him from nursing. and he doesnt sleep through the night still at 25 months, he has bad gas problems and he hasnt slept through the night since he was born. so dealing with that is pretty stressful.

Not having both his grandmothers around for support, one died 10 years ago from aids and other a drugaddict, so having my son with no mother for guidence was hard and having to tell my son why he has no grandmothers when hes older might be a little difficult.

but so far i feel very blessed being a parent.

  4. Dealing with the news when we found out that our daughter has Cystic Fibrosis when she was just 12 days old. It was hard. She is a year now though and doing well! We have adjusted to it and are doing well now too!

  5. wow! some of you have been through a lot so this will sound trivial to some. But the hardest situation is also with my nieces and nephews. My sister with 5 kids decided that she wanted to be a teenager again after seperating with her husband and I took them all in, it's been hard having to be 25 and be a mother to a 14, 10, 7, 5, 4, 2, 1 year old! I have two of my own, and it;s hard to share the love equally and make sure you are giving each child adequate attention, love and support.

  6. my son ending up in the hospital from crack I sold his schoolmates =/

  7. OURS WAS WHEN OUR 10 YR OLD WENT THRU THE DARE PROGRAM AT SCHOOL AND HE REALIZED THAT HIS BIOLOGICAL MOTHER DID DRUGS AND WHAT KIND OF DRUGS SHE HAS DONE... HE COULD POINT OUT EVERY DRUG SHE HAD DONE IN HIS PRESENCE AND IT MADE HIM VERY SAD THEN HE ASKED US WAS SHE A DRUG ADDICT AND IS THAT WHY SHE GAVE THEM UP... I THOUGHT MY HEART WOULD BREAK FOR HIM AND FOR US...

  8. Helping a child learn to cope with having been a victim of sexual battery.

  9. My mom said it was when I was diagnosed with cancer.  And then when I almost died.

My friend says it was when she realized that what she thought was doing the best for her son was the worst thing she could have done.

  10. being a single parent in general

  11. The hardest situation, being a parent, for me was the whole time my son was ill.

He was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia and taken into isolation at the hospital. When chemotherapy started, every day was hard not knowing what he would be like. Then he had an operation on his spine which was terrifying. The worst part by far was watching him pass away in front of me and I imagine the funeral will be worse.
