  1. I would say that maybe we all should stop driving cars and using electricity. Power Plants create alot of global warming gasses, But if we stopped driving cars and generating power how would we survive.

    EDIT:

Seriously though, what impact are you as an individual going to make on global warming, heck what impact is an entire nation of consumer going to make? nothing. You think that America is the worst country out there that produces greenhouse gasses. Look at China, three times the people whith no real environmental laws to speak of. I think you need to address developing nations and tell them the importance of their polluting ways.

  2. I could do you one better by saying that there is evidence that an area the size of at least a quarter of the land masses of the planet melted about 10,000 years ago. So? What's your point?

    -----

Walter did it first. Good job, Walt.

  3. I would say, "d**n it must be pretty darn hot there"   does that answer your question well enough?

  4. I'm guessing you never set foot in Greenland nor have I.   Can you tell us how much ice froze not that I accept your rediculous overestimation.  Are you contending that it is now a lush jungle.  In fact it is still a barren extremely cold place and will pretty much remain so into the foreseeable future.  Area is two dimensional and ice, believe it or not, is 3 dimensional.   Just in case you don't understand what that means.  If you take an ice cube a few molecules thick it wouldn't take much ice to be equal in area to California.  In other words, what you claimed is completely meaningless.  It is astonishing to me the degree that some people are willing to let their fantasies go wild and predict the end is near.  It is not.  Wake up.  The world is not coming to an end.  A little warming has done us good.  Lets just hope it is sustained.

  5. Yes.  It probably did. If you're fibbing, no doubt it will do, soon.

I've lived in a port-city in the UK, for 3 years.

SO planning a move back to Colorado, USA!!  Landlocked, and high ground.

'Climate Change Nay-Sayers' are like the fundies in the States, who STILL insist that Darwin was wrong... only this lot are more dangerous; the extinction of the human species (and most other specie) is at stake, now.

I believe we could not 'stop', or even 'slow' climate change down, by much, now.  The Earth is fighting back, and we are going to lose... within 10-20 years.

  6. Unimpressive.

    261,797 Sq. Mi. TX

    163,707 Sq. Mi. CA

    425,504 TOTAL

    197,000,000 Sq. Mi. EARTH

    0.2% melt area

Sorry, that kind of tactic might work on the alarmists, but not here.

Remember that Greenland was once populated and farmed by Vikings, so there’s nothing unusual about Greenland actually being, well, green.

Also, please offset this with the amount the Antarctic ice is growing. I think you’ll find the net effect to be near zero change in total ice on the planet.

  7. Yeah, I read this yesterday in this months Scientific American (Feb).

I've joked here before about Greenland or West Anarctica sliding off into the sea.

It doesn't have to melt to raise sea level.

Got beach front property?  Sell now.

  8. I would say that's a lot of melted ice, but not surprising.  Both Arctic and Antarctic sea ice are also melting at rapid rates.  We're running out of time to avoid the worst consequences of global warming.

  9. of course, summer is their

  10. if it happenes it happens let it be there is a reason for everything

  11. What would you say if I told you that the ice freezes in winter and now the ice is at 98% of normal levels with 3 months left before it starts to melt again?

  12. Well looking up the number of square miles in Greenland, Texas and California and doing the math I find that you talking about half of Greenland there. So I say check your sources.

  13. I would say it is 8 degree here in VA today, can you send some of that warming this way?

  14. Ahhh - the power of warmer waters.

Hey - Where is the big increase in Sea Levels that accompany all this ice melting?!?!?!??

If sea levels were to even rise a couple of inches from this melting, wouldn't your slanted media be shouting it loudly world wide??

    "Lowering Sea Level Rise"

  15. I would have to say so what. Pass me the sun tan lotion

  16. I would ask "The Voice of Reason" to compare the area that is usually frozen, not total global surface area, with that which is melting. His comparison is not logical and symptomatic of the denial crowd.
