  1. i think a 6-2, but out fo those a 5-1 prolly.

  2. Defiantly 4-2

  3. If you have a really good setter who is able to last a whole game then a 5-1 is better. i used to be a setter in school and sometimes it would get boring because it is also fun to hit and block..if you have equally good setters it is good to rotate your setters, but i also think a 5-1 is better because the spikers get used to one setter...anywayz that is my opinion.

  4. 6-2.

4-2 lack of offense and 5-1 has the same problem

Only 6-2 have the balance offense and defense, but it is the most different rotation to master it.

  5. One setter the whole way round. Two setters means two different kinds of sets therefore harder for hitters to get used to them. Also gives a new dimension having your setter able to fake out blockers easier with the dump available to them. Also you can have an extra back court hitter. Any high level game would never use 6-2

  6. I say neither a 6-2 is the way to go but a 5-1 is good to only really young kids play 4-2 I haven't played a 4-2 since I was 11.

  7. It depends on the team... if the setter can play decent front row, then a 5-1 works best because then players can build respect with that setter.  My team last year had two very short settters and we played a 6-2.  That was the best choice for our team because of the players we had.

  8. actually i think a 6-2 is the best... Hardest to learn but the coverage is great...

  9. It all depends on how good of a setter(s) your team has. If there is one outstanding setter, a 5-1 is the better option. If you have 2 equally good setters, a 4-2 would be the best option.

  10. 4-2, so have always have 3 front line attackers every rotation.

  11. It depends on your teammates ability.

A 4-2 from the middle or the right is easier to learn, and it can be run easily at any level.

A 5-1 requires a very good setter, one that is mobile, as well as smart enough, and can handle being a "team leader"

But in my opinion if your team is capable of playing at a decent to higher level the 6-2 can be the most effective.

You need to setters (like the 4-2) you need consistant passers, and you need a vocal team that works together.

I believe it is the most potent because you always have 3 options in the front row, it allows your front row players to concentrate on front row duties( blocking + hitting) and it makes your back row defenders more aggressive because they now it's me or you, because the setter only plays the tip over the block...

Like I said it takes a team of players to run the 6-2, but it can be the most potent.

    General rule:

Beginniner: 4-2 from middle, then the right

    Intermidiate/ beginner advanced: 5-1

    Advanced : 6-2

  12. Well I think 4-2 because then if you are a setter, you don't have to run all over the coart, trying to change up the positions of others.   But i havn't played in a game that was 4-2 since seventh grade.  i don't know it all depends on the setter.

  13. Waiat a minute!  Everyone is missing the 6-2.  (Two players setting, when they are in the back row.)  The right answer was already given.  It depends on the makeup of the team.  Do you have two tall  setters who can hit and block?  A 6-2 is a no brainer.  Do you have one dominant athlete who you want to be in charge at all times?  Then you must use a

5-1.  Do you have solid setters that can receive serve and block but not hit?  Go with the 4-2, unless you have better hitters on the bench.

  14. 4-2 because you don't want the setter to get tired within the first couple of points.

  15. Its not 4-2 its called 6-2 and i think a 6-2 since you have 2 setters you can give one a break and maybe the other wants to have a chance to hit.

  16. 4-2

  17. 5-1

  18. Reverse cowgirl

  19. a 5-1 because you have more people that can attack and make points

  20. It all depends on what kinda of skill you have on the team. Volleyball is probably one of the most "team" sports out there. This sport proves the saying that "You're only as good as your weakest player." Anyhow, back to answering the question...if you have a team with 2 very reliable setters, go for the 4-2, I find it less hectic. If you have one setter who dominates, and you have a team to back them up with good placement and movement, go with the 5-1.

  21. The variation in the rotations is to give you an option for the type of team you have. If you're team is more of a well rounded team with solid basic skills, but no real standout, position players, a 4-2 would suit your team better. A 5-1 is suited more for teams who have solid position players.
