I am a junior in high school now and have lately been trying to research several musical theater programs situated around the country. There is no shortage of them, although I am well aware only a few are truly worth the effort of auditioning for. I've already come across Montclair University in NJ, the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, CCM at the University of Cincinnati, and Carnegie-Mellon in NY. I was wondering if there were any other great programs out there or if there were some cons and pros about the ones I've listed that are not ussually advertised.

Thank you in advance,

Millie

  1. Two programs that have done pretty well are the University of Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City University (Kristen Chenoweth went there). I have also heard good things about Florida State University.

Nationally, though, I think Carnegie-Mellon (which is not in NY, btw, but in Pittsburgh) is tops.

  2. The best is probably Boston Conservatory.

  3. there is a musical theatre program in NYC at the juliard
