Snow angels dancing in the breeze

Brother and sister fall on their knees.

They lay down in the bitter snow

And figures of angels begin to show.

The pair giggle and smile at each other

And each prays they will never lose the other.

Snow angels playing on the river

Then the ice begins to quiver.

He lets out a dreadful scream

She hopes it's just a dream.

She reaches out her hand

But he slips away just like sand.

Snow angels in the white field

A little heart looking to be healed.

She lays down in the bitter snow

And a figure of an angel begins to show.

She lets out and sheds a tear

Yet she will always hold her angel near.

  1. Loss, with a touch of the Supernatural.

The latter part of the last stanza,

"And a figure of an angel begins to show.

She lets out and sheds a tear

Yet she will always hold her angel near."

suggests that even though her brother is gone, he is still with her. This is a comforting way to end the poem.

The "She lets out" puzzled me; is that supposed to be "yells"? Just wondering.

    Thanks for sharing poem!

  2. Dance with the Cloud.

  3. The Loss Of Innocence.

  4. Wow, that's a way to start a day. Now I'm sad.

I would say the theme is loss and brokenness but tmo.

The imagery is beautiful and the stanzas flow

Its a great piece that is worthy of print, if its an original then submit it to poetry.com, if its not please share the source, I would love to read more by this poet.
