I entered this into a competition, and I'm curious a. whether you like it and b. what you think it pertains to. Thanks for your opinions!

Listen. Can you hear them? They’re here, watching. As you sit beneath the willows, purple sky upon you, they feel your thoughts. The dust settles in your mind as they swarm from the shadows.

Them. They invade your brain, bringing you heaven on Earth, forcing you into the silent reverie of dreams. In a moment you can feel every high, every revelation, experience colors, taste euphoria. Waves of artificial emotion cover you, insulating your mind from the horrors by which you’re surrounded. Wars are fought, cities crumble, yet you sit, unchanging, living in the moment of bliss that doesn’t exist.
