I want to train in Karate, Taekwondo, Taekkyon, Hapkido, Boxing, Wrestling, Body Building and General Self-Defence. Not to mention Fencing and Kendo. And to help with agillity Trampolineing, Gymnastics and Ballet (the last one was actually serious). Aswell as Rifle and Clay Piegeon Shooting. I want to train to be able to protect myself from the constant bullies. What would you say?

  1. As long as you're willing to dedicate 28 hours a day, go for it!

  2. So, you've never done any of these, and you've going to take all of them up at once.

How are you going to afford all the classes? For that matter, how are you going to have time? Even kiddie martial arts classes will expect you to commit 90 minutes per week plus practice at home. Shooting will take longer than that...but let's be generous and say it won't. That's still over three hours classes per day including weekends.

If you want to take up this sort of hobby, pick ONE martial art, ONE agility sport, and ONE shooting sport. Even then you may well find yourself overcommitted.

  3. I'd say, "Sure Sweetie, you have your whole life ahead of you. At this point though, you are obliged to do schoolwork, so I'm only going to let you do two of them."

  4. I hate to say it -but when will you have any spare time? Good on you if you can keep up the pace . I'm exhausted just reading what you want to do.
