What would you suggest to clear up my skin?

I'm sixteen, so unfortunately I have the typical teenage skin -- broken out, scarred, ugh. It's awful. I get very oily throughout the day, which means I'm horrendously shiny as well. I manage to get my skin somewhat presentable by using makeup, but I feel extremely uncomfortable and unattractive without it.

I'd love to be a "foundation: optional" sort of girl... So what face washes, moisturizers, etc. would you recommend for me? :D

Thanks so much guys, I appreciate all your helppp

  1. i use proactive but it is kinda expensive.

but if you get it, you have to have a lot of comitment. you have to wash every day and night and be sure you dont skip days and stuff and it will prolly work well. it did for me and now my skin is like SO much better

you could go to a drugstore and get a few products and try them out for a while and see which one works the best

you have to use it for like a week to be sure to test it out an d yeah

  2. if you want a more 'quick - fix' solution check out the first link below,

if you want to CURE your acne from the inside-out in a natural, safe & highly effective manner check out the second link - mind you this second option is a 2-3 month commitment and you will have to make drastic changes to your lifestlye and outlook but it's SOOOOOO worth it @ the end plus you'll learn life valueable general health information to referance to the rest of your life....

That being said, Good Luck !!

  3. I use Proactiv!!!  so far its workin good......im one of those people who sees tv commercials and theres a product on sale. im skeptical bout!!!  i decided to call and order Proactiv and it works great!!!

i heard rumors that it made skin worser, but the 1st and 2nd week it does make ur face a little worse, but then little by little ur zits, pimple, ect start vanishing!!!!

I really recommend it....u have nothing really to lose!!!!  if it doesnt work just return it!....

    goood   Luck  :)

  4. Personally, I use CLearasil ultra. pretty cheap and works! HOw much better can that get? My friend uses proactive but it is so expensive. clean and clear I have used but all it really did was moisturize but the acne, not so much! Again I like Clearasil Ultra

  5. Hey well i also have the typical teen acne. But i found a great homemade recipe that helps A LOT. But first i was wondering what kind of face wash you use. I use Proactiv and it works pretty well.

Anyways, Its a great mask for any acne problem. Mix 1/4 ounce of yeast (or one packet of yeast) and add one part lemon juice and one part water. Mix until it is kind of pastey and then apply to whole face. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes then wash off! I hope this helps!

  6. This should give you some information that you'll find helpful.

Acne is an inflammatory skin disorder.  Acne is more common in males because androgens (male s*x hormones) like testosterone, stimulates the production of keratin and sebum, which leads to clogged pores.  During puberty, androgens increase in both sexes, making girls in this age group more susceptible as well.  Acne flares up, in older women are also prompted by the release of progesterone after ovulation.

The sebaceous glands, located in each hair follicle or tiny pit of skin, produce oil that lubricates the skin.  These are found in large number on the face, shoulders, back and chest.  If some of the oil becomes trapped, bacteria multiply in the follicle and the skin becomes inflamed.  Acne is not caused by dirty pores, but most likely by overactive oil glands; the excess oil makes the pores sticky, allowing bacteria to become trapped inside.

The exact cause of acne is not known, but factors that contribute to the condition include heredity, oily skin, use of cosmetics, over consumption of drunk foods, nutritional deficiencies, exposure to industrial pollutants, monthly menstrual cycles, and over washing or repeated rubbing of the skin.

The skin is the largest organ of the body.  One of its functions is to eliminate a portion of the body’s toxic waste products through sweating.  If the body contains more toxins than the kidneys and liver can effectively discharge, the skin takes over.  As toxins escape through the skin, they disrupt the skin’s healthy integrity.  This is the key factor behind many skin disorders, including acne.

The skin also breathes.  If the pores become clogged, the microbes that are involved in causing acne flourish because they are protected against the bacteriostatic action of sunshine.  Dirt, dust, oils and grime from pollution clog the pores, but this can be eliminated by washing the skin properly.

Eat a lot of all kinds of fruits and vegetables.  Eat a diet that is high in fiber.  This is important for keeping the colon clean and ridding the body of toxins.  Raw cabbage is excellent to improve the elimination process of the colon.

Increase your intake of raw foods inclusive of almonds, beets, and cashews.  Eat more foods rich in zinc including shellfish, soy beans whole grains, sunflower seeds, and raw nuts daily.

Eat plenty of soured products such as yogurt to maintain healthy intestinal flora.

Reduce your intake of sweets.  As much as possible avoid stress.  Stress can promote hormonal changes and cause flare-ups.  Many dermatologists also recommend fifteen minutes of sunshine each day, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep for people with acne.

Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.

Wash your face with a soapy soft bath rag twice per day.

  7. i think every girl is a little self conctious about there skin just remember that your not the only girl with acne problems around. and also i use biore. and it helps alot. i use to use mary kay. and that helped alot to but its kinda expensive. so i suggest biore. i use to be a girl who wouldn't go out of the house without foundation. but biore helped clear up my skin. also as for your shininess issue. i suggest a oil control lotion. mary kay has amazing oil control lotion it works great for me. and try oil sheets you just rub them on your face and it gets some of the oil. and when your picking out your face wash make sure you read the bottle b/c some face washes are for dry skin which have more oil in them to help balance out the oil level on your face. and some are for more oily skin which have less oil in them.

remember        cleanse , tones , mosturize.

    hope i helped. :)
