  1. try using silver in a colloidal form. there are a few out there just google it. it is an alternative medicine to healing infeciton. one on the market that i have used is silver fusion. good luck.

  2. As you know there is no cure for the common cold but you can prevent it if you build up your immune system with things like Echinacea...

But for now whilst you are in the thick of it treat your symptoms-

Sore throat- take a lemon or orange, squeeze it and add water off the boil, then generous amount of Manuka honey...this really works a treat as Manuka honey has many healing and antiobiotic properties.

A blocked nose can be helped by sniffing Olbas oil but will just clear itself in time...

Sore tummy- Take the drink from the sore throat and add grated stem ginger...this actually heats you up from the inside too!

And get under the covers and sweat, sweat, sweat it out!

Also don't forget to change your toothbrush!

  3. At the onset of a cold, or even during the duration of it, Zycam cold remedy is great!  It works fast and it is natural!  A brand called SinuCleanse makes a thing called a nettie pot.  You use warm water and one packet of the included salt (one packet per pot).  You tilt your head to the side and pour the mixture into one nostril.  It should drain out the other one.  It's not as gross as it sounds.  It doesn't hurt either!  You should read the directions before you try it.  It's very easy and very relieving for stuffy sinuses, colds, and allergies.  I use one.  Those two items, combined, will help tremendously when it comes to getting past a cold.

  4. I wouldn't take anything at all, except for perhaps NyQuil so that you can still sleep.

For a sour throat, try drinking chicken broth though. The salt kills the bacteria. Or if you don't want to drink/eat something, gargle with warm salt water.

Also, wrap yourself up in several blankets for a really thick, warm one. If you get hot, just stay in there. This'll help you sweat it out.

  5. Airborne or Emergency anthing high in vitamin C/ antioxidents

  6. no...but sudephede works.

  7. The last time I had a cold coming on I was able to stop it, before it was full blown.

I got out some hydrogen peroxide $1.59 from Rite aide.  I poured some in my right ear until the bubbling stopped, and then the left ear until the bubbling stopped.  After that I put 1/4 capfull of hydrogen peroxide mixed with 3/4 water and sniffed it through each nostril.  After about a minute I blew my nose and this green gunk came out, and the feeling of the cold was gone.  Woke up next day just like new, no cold at all, and everyone in my office had the bug.

  8. I always go with 6000-9000mgs of vitamin c and about 90 mgs of zinc daily(NOT all at once, the zinc before bed as it can cause upset tummy, split the C dosage in half), along with a lot of water, fruit juices high in vit c, eat raw fruits n veggies, hot steaming baths or showers, and of course chicken soup, plenty of sleep.  My colds never last long, for great home remedies I reccommend you keep a copy of Nutritional Healing by the DRs Balch.  It is my home health bible.  It has helped me control a chronic illness I have, good luck.

  9. Chicken soup.  They don't know if it is something in the chicken or if it just that it tastes good so it gets the fluids back into you or that the steam opens the passage ways, but even medical doctors agree that you should go with it.

  10. garlic and curry. Theres nothing you can do to rid yourself of the bug, just teh symptoms, so rest up and let your body do its thing. If you cant do that get some cold and flu tablets for symptoms so you can go about your business. For night time if you cant sleep with a blocked nose get boiling hot water, add some whiskey, honey and lemon juice. Sit it by your bed as you lie there relaxing and getting warm, so by this stage it should be cool enough to drink, then drink it and sleep until morning :)

  11. I'd take zinc lozenges, and rinse my nose with salty water, i.e. slowly snort the water up into the nostril and have it come out via your mouth. That really clears up the mucus that is stuck up there. All you need is a glass and lukewarm water with a teaspoon of salt.

  12. vitamin c! the chewable kind works, put about 10 tablets in a cup and fill the cup with a lot of water and let it dissolve. and when it's done dissolving drink it. it really works!

  13. I wish I have a cold right now but I used Nyquil.

  14. Take a really hot bath, then get in bed under the covers and sweat for 3 hours.  It will get the bug out and you will feel so much better!

A drink called the "Master-Cleanse" is also a thing that works great!
