  1. Here's a list of things I usually bring for a flight/train trip:

    Sweater or travel blanket (there are never enough onboard and sometimes it gets cold)

    Fully charged I-Pod or MP3 player

    Earplugs/Eyemask (In case it's a long flight and you want to catch a few winks)

    Water bottle (I always bring an empty to fill up after security)

    Snack (I always pack a box of animial crackers in case there's an upset little one sitting near me - twice this year already - works like a charm!)

    Chewing gum

    Medications

    * Toothpaste/toothbrush

    * Moisturizer (My skin always dries out on long flights)

    * Lipbalm/lipgloss

    * Make up

    Hairbrush

    A book/magazine/reading material

    Notebook & pen

    Travel itinerary/travel documents

    Wallet/ID/credit cards/cash/handbag

    Cell phone/charger

    Camera/accessories

    Change of clothing

    Jewelry/anything expensive that couldn't be replaced

    A sense of humor / patience

    I have a great weekend bag that I bought from Halsea a few months ago: http://www.halsea.com/html/chinaCoveWeek...

    I have the Sunset pink and I love this bag. I always travel with it now and I get lots of compliments. It's great for a long flight or if I'm going somewhere for a few days, I can fit everything I need inside.

    P.S. - Remember when carrying liquids *, you need to stick to the 3-1-1 rule. (http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm)

  4. Anything you absolutely can't live without...in case your checked bags are lost.

    I've learned to rely & live by the rule of only traveling with my large land luggage,that can be boarded with me.

    1)cosmetics.

    2)favorite casual clothes & 1 dress,shoes,sandals,smaller handbag,bras,underwear,casual jewelry,favorite anything!

    3)Also remember. You are still allowed your handbag.So I'd place inportant items that are irreplasable in that.

    4)Basically, think, if I only get to keep my hand luggage & purse,what would make my trip a huge success & not a bummer.

    I used to travel a great deall, even before 9/11 - So trust me on this one.
