  1. I'd think the doctor was nosy and refuse to answer any irrelevant questions.


  2. I would ask the importance of such irrelevant information and the significance of this questioning.  Explain that you are confused with the entire line of questioning and would feel more at ease with an understanding of the entire process.  

  3. I would ask the doctor how relevant the questions were to my treatment.  They may well be relevant but not obvious to you as such.
