What would you think of this person?!? *ADOLESCENT*?

lets say theres a woman who has three kids ages 5,2, and 1. She's 24 years old and she got married when she was 23 after she graduated from college. shes a great mom, shes happy with her relationship with her husband, they're like soulmates.

anywayz..what do u think of this person? cuz this person is mah older sister but alot of my friends say its not good to have that many kids when ur young

all that matters is what you think of her.. other people dont matter.. i am 18 and my daughter was born when i was 17 so you tell the she is at a perfect age....

If she is taking care of them and shes being responsible, then age doesnt really matter.  My cousin is 24 (ish) and she has three kids. She is a great parent and she is a single parent as well.  If its bothering you about what your friends are saying, tell them what you think and ask them to stop. If they dont stop then they arent true friends.

From a basic health point of view, there's nothing wrong with it.  Years and years ago, it was quite normal to have 3 or 4 kids by 24.

The only way it would be wrong is if she han't finished school yet, is a single mom, the children have all different daddies, or if she isn't done with her party life.  Each of these can cause major problems down the road, for her and also for the children.

But in your sister's case, it sounds like she has none of the above issues - so - everything is fine.  Tell your friends thanks for caring, but your sister and her family are happy and doing fine.  Then change the subject.

i would think she had it rough by going to college and having kids, but i would also applaud her for doing a good job by going to college while she had a kid.

theres nothing wrong with having kids when you are young.

as long as you aren't really young.

i know people who have had kids pretty young.

your friends are probably just very close minded.

I think she's Lucky. She's very fortunate that her relationship worked out. She's also lucky because even though she had that set back she still had the opportunity to finish college. I don't think that it was a good idea to have kids before marriage, but at least she picked the right person to make the "mistake" with.  I also would think that she's strong because a lot of young pregnant girls would be selfish and abort their child. But she had the courage to raise the baby.

The only reason it is a common assumption that having kids that young is wrong is because in most cases, the mother hasn't finished school or is raising the child on her own.

The way you described your sister, I think that it's perfectly ok.
