When my Parents turned 40 they wanted to do paintball. If your kids are to young if you have kids try going to florida or new york. Maybe even montana. Montana has wonderful scenery

mine was great, i was in Teneriffe with my fiancee, on my actual 40th, we went on a whale and dolphin watching trip on a catamaran, we saw lots, which apparently was quite rare :-)  

no family to try to please, no pressure, great
